Are you confident in accurately reporting cryptocurrency earnings on your tax returns?

How do I report my C-CEX taxes?

You can report your C-CEX taxes by importing your historical trading data into CoinTracker. Even though the C-CEX exchange is no longer operational, CoinTracker lets you upload CSV exports, wallet transactions, or manual entries to automatically calculate your capital gains, losses, and income, and generate tax reports compliant with major international tax authorities.

How do I connect my C-CEX account to CoinTracker?

To add your C-CEX transactions to CoinTracker:

  1. Download the CSV export of your transactions from C-CEX

  2. Reformat those transactions into our CoinTracker CSV format (see our support guide here)

  3. Import your CSV export to CoinTracker here

How are C-CEX transactions taxed?

Crypto transactions conducted on C-CEX are taxable under most countries' crypto tax laws.

  • Capital gains tax: You must report gains or losses when you sell, swap, or trade crypto. The taxable amount equals the difference between your cost basis (purchase price) and the value at the time of disposal.

  • Income tax: Applies to airdrops, referrals, or staking rewards earned on the platform. The fair market value of crypto received is treated as taxable income.

CoinTracker automatically calculates both your realized gains and income based on your C-CEX activity.

Do I have to pay taxes on C-CEX?

Yes. You must report any profits, income, or realized gains from trading on C-CEX — even if the exchange is inactive. Taxable events include:

  • Selling crypto for fiat (USD, EUR, etc.)

  • Trading between crypto pairs (e.g., BTC/ETH, LTC/DOGE)

  • Receiving crypto through rewards or promotions

CoinTracker helps you reconstruct and report these transactions accurately.

Does C-CEX provide tax documents?

No. C-CEX did not issue official tax forms such as 1099-MISC, 1099-B, or 1099-DA.

Before closing, it allowed users to export trade histories and wallet balances in CSV format.

If you still have these exports or blockchain transaction records, upload them to CoinTracker to generate complete and compliant tax reports.

How to get your C-CEX tax documents

  1. Search your email archives or local storage for files titled “C-CEX Trade History” or “Account Statement.” Look for any CSV exports, Excel files, or wallet records linked to your C-CEX activity.

  2. Use blockchain explorers (BTCScan, Etherscan, etc.) to confirm deposits or withdrawals from your C-CEX wallets.

  3. Log in to CoinTracker.

  4. Go to Add Account → Manual Entry → Upload CSV.

  5. Upload your data or manually recreate your trade history to calculate your tax summary.

When did C-CEX issue Form 1099-MISC, 1099-B, or 1099-DA?

C-CEX never issued U.S. tax forms such as 1099-MISC, 1099-B, or 1099-DA, since it operated as an international, unregulated exchange.

U.S. taxpayers must still self-report all C-CEX transactions.

CoinTracker automatically generates Form 8949, Schedule D, and other country-specific tax summaries based on your data.

Why aren't my C-CEX documents accurate?

Your C-CEX data might be incomplete because:

  • The exchange shut down without long-term data access.

  • Some older CSV exports excluded withdrawals or deposits.

  • Wallet transfers weren't linked to trade IDs.

CoinTracker consolidates data from other exchanges and wallets to fill gaps and generate complete, audit-ready reports.

Does C-CEX automatically deduct taxes?

No. C-CEX did not withhold or remit taxes on behalf of users.

You are responsible for declaring your income and capital gains.

CoinTracker simplifies this process by generating country-compliant summaries and helping you file accurately.

Does C-CEX report to tax authorities?

No. C-CEX did not share user transaction data with tax agencies such as the IRS, HMRC, ATO, or CRA.

However, users are still required to self-report income and gains from all crypto activity.

CoinTracker ensures that your historical reports meet all compliance standards, even for non-reporting exchanges.

Does C-CEX provide financial or end-of-year statements?

No new statements are available since the platform's closure.

If you have saved PDF or CSV reports, or confirmation emails, you can upload them into CoinTracker.

CoinTracker will automatically generate capital gains, income, and end-of-year summaries from this data.
